Guide to Persian notation:
- Koron
or P signifies a half-flat, a quarter-tone flatter than the natural tone.
- Sori
signifies a half-sharp, a quarter-tone sharper than the natural tone.
- Neutral N is midway between major and minor.
- A neutral 3rd interval is equal to one and three-quarter tones.
- A neutral triad consists of the fundamental, the perfect 5th, and the neutral 3rd halfway between on the scale.
- In chord notation, these symbols are used in the same manner as sharp, flat, minor, augmented, etc.
- EPN is a neutral triad based on E half-flat: E-half-flat, G, B-half-flat.
- BMN7 starts with a major triad based on B, then adds a neutral 7th above the fundamental: B, D-sharp, F-sharp, A-half-sharp.
