Civil War

POLICY: Between 1861 and 1865, the U. S. A. fought a bloody war to force eleven states back into the union.

RESULT: Those eleven states are still in the union, running it. They have produced the sitting president, vice president, Senate majority leader, House majority leader, and attorney general, among other offices.

Arms Race

POLICY: Starting in 1945, the U. S. A. armed itself to the teeth, in an attempt to force Russia to do likewise, destroying its economy.

RESULT: The Russian economy toppled to the point that dirty needles were used in hospitals. Now there is support for restoration of a controlled economy.

Military Aid to Pakistan

POLICY: The U. S. A. sent arms to Pakistan for decades, to make that country strong.

RESULT: Pakistan is now a nuclear power.

Military Aid to Afghanistan

POLICY: The U. S. A. armed and trained Muslim fundamentalists so that they could wage war against a superpower.

RESULT: Muslim fundamentalists from Afghanistan have allegedly bombed embassies of a superpower.
