| It was predictable that an airplane would eventually fly straight into a skyscraper, either deliberately or by accident. An airplane had hit the Empire State Building. A commercial passenger aircraft had crashed into a Brooklyn neighborhood. There had been a terrorist bombing attempt under the World Trade Center. A large aircraft had hit an apartment building near Amsterdam, killing hundreds. | Don't ignore past experience. Enact and enforce tough building codes on both private and public construction. Its basis is the intolerance of a jealous god who cannot bear the thought that his followers might entertain other gods. To emulate righteous behavior, they become jealous and intolerant. There are better religions, based on understanding and spiritual evolution, that can combine the wisdom of Western civilization with the connectedness of many other cultures. |
